Floatels India to Launch Two New Properties in Kerala : Floatels India Pvt. Ltd, plans to open two new properties in Kerala. Floatels plans to launch an Ayurveda Village in its existing Poovar Island Resort in Thiruvananthapuram by November this year with an investment of Rs seven crore. The Ayurveda Village will be a resort within a resort built separately on 20,000 sq. ft. area. The kerala resorts will be secluded from the rest of the property and will have separate rooms, restaurant, swimming pool and treatment centre.

"We found that several guests coming in for ayurvedic treatment kerala wanted to have separate facilities away from the rest of the resort. They wanted a secluded place with all the facilities based on which we decided to have a resort within a resort," informed M R Narayanan, Managing Director, Poovar Island Resort. The property spread across eight acres will have 18 cottages with private gardens. The ayurveda centre will have 12 treatment rooms for guests.

The company has further tied-up with Sri Lankan hospitality major, Aitken Spence Group for its property in Kochi , which will be launched by the end of 2009. It has already started construction work on this 50-room five-star resort in the backwaters of Kochi and will spend Rs 40 crore on this property with 50 per cent equity share from Aitken Spence. The resort will have the ambience of a large village and will extensively use the services of the local people. It will be an eco-friendly resort with floating cottages offering ample opportunities for water sports, which will be the key attraction of the resort. It will be a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified resort.
